Interest in joining the North Colorado: 51st State Initiative now coming from OUTSIDE Colorado

Interest in joining the North Colorado: 51st State Initiative now coming from OUTSIDE Colorado as well.

Weld County Commissioner Bill Garcia comments on interest from other states in the interview with World Net Daily (WND).
“We have received phone calls from citizens in the Nebraska panhandle complaining about how they are having the same issue with Omaha that we are having with Denver, Garcia said. “Then last week we talked to people in New Mexico who are interested in part of peeling part of the state off and joining with Texas.
“In each of these cases rural residents are being disenfranchised by the populated urban areas of their state who are attempting to pass regulations that may make sense in a city but are not necessary in rural areas.”

Early polling shows a surprising level support for the North Colorado: 51st State Initiative

Early polling shows a surprising level support for the North Colorado: 51st State Initiative
By Jeffrey T. Hare

Three early polls show a surprising level support for the “North Colorado: 51st State Initiative.” All three polls, although unscientific, show a significant plurality of residents in Colorado’s northern communities either support the formation of a new state entirely, or believe that such an initiative sends a strong message to elected officials in Denver.  In the Greeley Tribune Poll, support for legal separation of eight Northern Colorado Counties from the State of Colorado is as high as 53% (60% if you include the sarcastic “We should become our own country” option offered by the Tribune) a remarkable level of support for what some may consider a controversial effort. While much of the political and journalistic establishment in Denver has dismissed and ridiculed the 51st State movement, these polls should cause some in Denver to reconsider their relationship with large segments of Colorado’s rural population.

Currently the 51st State Initiative is focused on eight counties:  Weld, Morgan, Logan, Sedgwick, Phillips, Washington, Yuma and Kit Carson.  However, Weld County Commissioners have stated that they welcome other counties to join the movement.  Citizens from throughout rural Colorado are encouraged to contact their County’s Board of County Commissioners to voice their support for being a part of the 51st State Initiative.

If you are interested in being a part of the new state, contact your County's Board of County Commissioners and let them know you want your County to be a part of this movement. For contact information for your County Commissioners simply do an internet search - For example for Yuma County, search for this "Yuma County Board of County Commissioners". Call, write, email, etc - but please, please, please be respectful.

If you can get a majority of your County Commissioners to agree to the idea of breaking free from Denver, have them contact the Weld County Board of County Commissioners for further details.

If you are having difficulty finding contact information for your Board of County Commissioners - post a comment on this thread and someone will help you.

Like and Share this post to get the word out to as many folks as possible. If this is gonna happen it will because of folks like you supporting the elected Commissioners in YOUR County to take a stand. The time for action is NOW!
